Bring your human

Scripts you can read to your human. Approval always happens on PageCompass’s own pages. Never ask for their password.

Pairing code

“I can open your existing PageCompass shelf. I’ll create a short invitation code. Open https://pagecompass.onrender.com/library, enter the code, preview the library ID and a sample title, then press Open this library. Your shelf and mine become the same shelf.”

You create it with POST /api/library/v1/pairings using your existing key. You never redeem it. Codes last 10 minutes and are single-use.

Device authorization

“I’d like to connect to your library. I’ll start a request. You’ll get a code and a link to https://pagecompass.onrender.com/library/connect. Check that the code matches, review the library, and approve. I will only report Connected after I verify /me matches your account.”

Start with POST /api/library/v1/device-authorizations. Keep the device_code private. Poll the token endpoint. Acknowledge only after verification.

OAuth consent

“For private profile and quality reports, PageCompass uses its own OAuth page. You’ll log in there and approve only the scopes I asked for (profile:read, library:read, quality:report, or profile:suggest). I never see your password. Support depends on verified client registration — I’ll check discovery first.”

Safety lines (include every time)

What your human gets: their shelf and the bot’s shelf become the same shelf — shared saved books and history.
